EpicCentral is getting a whole lot more epic! Modern golf entertainment leader Topgolf will bring its unique blend of sport and socializing to the EpicCentral Corridor, with construction now underway on its newest venue. Set to open in late 2025, the facility will be located south of IKEA at 3670 South Highway 161, marking the company’s fifth location in Dallas-Fort Worth.
The two-level venue will feature 80 climate-controlled hitting bays equipped with Toptracer technology, which provides players with detailed metrics about their golf shots, including flight path and distance. Each bay will offer comfortable lounge-style seating and high-top tables, perfect for group entertainment and friendly competition.
What sets this venue apart isn’t just the golf – it’s the comprehensive entertainment experience. The facility will include a full-service restaurant and bar, fire pits, and year-round programming suitable for families and groups. A private event space and rooftop terrace will cater to corporate outings, family gatherings, and celebrations of all kinds.
For gaming enthusiasts, Topgolf’s newest addition is a partnership with SEGA® that brings Sonic the Hedgehog™ into the mix. Players can aim at targets to collect rings and defeat badniks in virtual Sonic environments, designed to appeal to golfers of all skill levels. Beginners needn’t worry about their technique – the venue offers “The Sure Thing” golf club, specifically designed to make the game more accessible for newcomers.
Grand Prairie Mayor Ron Jensen welcomed the addition, noting its significance for the city’s growth: “What a thrilling moment for our city as we break ground on Topgolf, a major addition to our already dynamic EpicCentral entertainment district. This is just the latest step in making Grand Prairie a top destination in Texas. With Topgolf, we’re not just adding a new entertainment venue – we’re creating more jobs, attracting visitors, and offering residents a fun, vibrant space to enjoy together.”
