Family Fun at Our Solar Eclipse Watch Party!

As anticipation builds for this decade’s most anticipated celestial event, families across the Dallas-Fort Worth area are gearing up for an unforgettable viewing party at the 172-acre EpicCentral in Grand Prairie, Texas. Filled with a vibrant backdrop of adventure parks, waterfront dining, playgrounds, paths, lakes, picnic spaces, and a nightly water and lights show, EpicCentral is the perfect setting for an awe-inspiring experience. Scheduled for Monday, April 8, families from near and far will enjoy a day filled with live music, engaging activities, and the main event—the total solar eclipse. Hotel rooms are available right on the property.

Grand Prairie in fact has a whole weekend planned leading up to the eclipse, ensuring that families have ample opportunities to immerse themselves in the excitement.

Thursday, April 4: Kicking off the pre-eclipse festivities, families can participate in the “Spotting Craters” activity at the Main Library. This hands-on experience offers a glimpse into the lunar landscape, sparking curiosity and igniting imaginations as participants explore the mysteries of the moon’s surface.

Friday, April 5: The Main Library brings another exciting activity with the “Paper Mars Helicopters” workshop. Families can unleash their creativity as they design and construct their very own Mars helicopters, inspired by the ingenuity of space exploration.

Saturday, April 6: The excitement continues at the Main Library with activities such as the “Mars Candy Core Samples” workshop, offering a sweet twist on planetary exploration. Meanwhile, over at the John Carl Pogue Planetarium, visitors can immerse themselves in the wonder of space with showings of “Totality over Texas.” This captivating presentation not only educates but also inspires, providing valuable insights into the celestial mechanics behind the solar eclipse.

Sunday, April 7: For those looking to explore more earthly delights, this marks the opening day of the Farmers Market—a perfect opportunity to savor local flavors, connect with the community, and stock up on fresh produce for eclipse day festivities.

Monday, April 8: For the big day, the entertainment district transforms into Eclipse Central for DFW. Families can gather to soak in the atmosphere, enjoy live music performances, and engage in a variety of hands-on activities while eagerly awaiting the arrival of the total solar eclipse. As the moon gradually obscures the sun, casting a shadow across the land, families will witness a breathtaking display of nature’s grandeur. The air will buzz with excitement as children and adults alike don their solar eclipse glasses, eagerly awaiting the moment of totality—a fleeting yet unforgettable experience that will be etched into their memories for years to come.

Don’t Miss Out!

The magic of the eclipse extends beyond the brief moments of totality. It serves as a reminder of the awe and wonder of the universe, sparking curiosity and inspiring future generations to explore the realms of science and discovery. For families gathered at EpicCentral, it is not just a celestial event; it is a shared moment of wonder and connection that strengthens bonds and creates lasting memories.

So, mark your calendars, gather your loved ones, and join in the celestial celebration at EpicCentral.
